Belagavi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been using language of religious and communal hatred in his election speeches and has been talking like an activist of the Bajrang Dal.

“Modi was frustrated with Congress successfully implementing its five guarantees in Karnataka and also replicating them in Telangana and fears that BJP will lose the Lok Sabha election,” Siddaramaiah added.

Siddaramaiah told reporters here on Sunday that people have developed faith and confidence in Congress due to its guarantees which have empowered poor.

“During previous tenure of Congress government too we had fulfilled assurances given. When we had announced guarantees during assembly election, BJP had spread false propaganda that they cannot be implemented, state would become bankrupt and now say they will be in effect only upto Lok Sabha election, but will continue until the tenure of government” he said.

“We made provision of Rs 36,000 crore funds for implementing guarantees previous year and this year have provided Rs 56,000 crore. Provision of funds has also been made for developmental projects and capital expenditure. We implemented guarantees within eight months of coming to power,” he added.

“Lok Sabha elections are being held in two phases in the state. Based on inputs we shall win 8 to 9 seats of first phase and about 10 to 12 seats in second phase. No one should be surprised if Congress wins 20 seats in the state, the CM said.
