Rambhakt Gopal Sharma

NEW DELHI – Recall Rambhakt Gopal! The juvenile delinquent nabbed while opening fire at an anti-CAA protest rally outside the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia, in full public view. He has now grown into a full-time Hindutva thug. He has posted videos of himself on the prowl. One of his videos shows him abducting a youth in a vehicle and intimidating people with guns in Mewat.

Out on bail after his arrest in a hate speech case and Jamia shooting case, the goon posted the videos on his Instagram account the day before yesterday. The account on which the videos are uploaded now stands deleted.

In a video clip, a group of men armed with guns can be seen abducting a youth in a SUV calling him “cow smuggler”. The caption of the video reads: “Taking away cow smuggler”.

Poet and Journalist, Kaushik Raj, shared the video on Twitter along with the Instagram link of the account.

In another video posted through his account, someone is seen brandishing a gun in the presence of a crowd, which included children, in Mewat. Stopping the vehicle in front of a house, the hooligans are seen threatening the children present. The video is captioned ‘Haryana Cow Protection Committee’.

The SUV in which the youth was kidnapped is registered in the name of Development and Panchayat as its owner.

Not only Gopal, his aide Monu Manesar too has uploaded a video a mob brutally beating up a youth with sticks.

“These are the scrap-pickers who throw stones at our soldiers and Hindutva supporters,” reads the caption of the video referring to the Muslim victim.

Another video of an elderly Muslim man being assaulted in Haryana’s Sonipat has surfaced on social media. The seriously injured old man is lying unconscious in a vehicle after being beaten up by the thugs.

The video was uploaded by Gauraksha Dal of Sonipat with the caption: “”The butcher who killed mother cow”.

These videos were tagged to Haryana Police and Haryana DGP with a demand for action against the culprits including Gopal. A trend has also been started on Twitter demanding the arrest of Gopal. But the police are yet to respond to these posts.

In protest against police inaction on these videos, a journalist, Alishan Jafri, said, “It’s been more than 24 hours. Police yet to take action against men who abducted, assaulted Muslims, & threatened a child with firearms. They chose to upload the videos on their social media. They added hate music to the violent videos to humiliate victims. Is this not injustice?”.

Meanwhile, in a video, Gopal claimed that he has nothing to do with these videos and asked the Haryana Police to investigate those who are sharing these videos. He claimed that it was propaganda against him, fellow cow protectors and Hindus at large.

Gopal was arrested twice for his criminal activities. While one case against him is related to shooting at Jamia, another is related to hate speeches he made against Muslims during an event in Haryana. He got bail in both of these cases.
