Bengaluru: A right-wing Hindutva organization with no address has written a letter giving death threats to 61 prominent personalities of the state including writer Kum Veerabhadrappa (KumVee), Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and JDS leader and former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday.

The two-page letter was from a “Sahishnu Hindu” without address alleging that more than 61 writers and politicians including Siddaramaiah, Kumaraswamy are on the path of destruction, while warning that death is “coming for them”.

“Beware! Anti-national Buddhi Jeevis (intellectuals), Kum.Veerabhadrappa and former Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy! Beware! Beware! Be prepared for your funerals at your own homes,” the letter threatened.

After facing death threats in the letter, writer Kum. Veerabhadrappa informed the media that, “I have received a letter from Shivamogga’s Bhadravati from a coward with no name or address. It also mentions the names of two former chief ministers” and asked the reporters to read it.

“For writing a letter to the state government supporting Hijab and against Bhagavad-Gita”, “Sahishnu Hindu” threatened to kill more than 61 writers in the shocking letter.

“Considering the death threats faced by writers in the letter, a case must be filed while detailed investigations should be carried out in order to track down the source of the sender and their intentions. Serious action should be taken against the evil forces threatening to kill writers and former chief ministers for seeking communal harmony and peace,” the writers urged.
