MEERUT: A 22-year-old man and two others allegedly pushed an 18-year-old Dalit girl into boiling sugarcane juice at a jaggery unit in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat after she resisted attempts to molest her.
The girl suffered 50% burns on her hands, face and stomach and was shifted to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi, a senior police officer said on Sunday. The teenager is a resident of Muzaffarnagar and works at the cane crusher, police said, adding the crime took place at Dhanaura village under the district’s Binauli police limits on Thursday.
