On January 1, many Muslim women found themselves on ‘auction’ on an app. A few days later, three members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad dragged a Muslim man and his Hindu travelling companion out of an Ajmer-bound train, at Ujjain railway station in Madhya Pradesh, accusing the former of ‘love jihad’. In Karnataka’s Udupi, six female students are not being allowed entry into classrooms for wearing a hijab. Right-wing Hindutva groups protested in Gurugram against Muslims reading namaz in open spaces.
