JAMMU, Feb 4: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson and additional general secretary, Dr Surinder Jain today strongly advocated for giving arms to the nationalist people in J&K for their self defence and protection from the increasing militant attacks.
Talking to reporters here, he expressed grave concern over militant attacks in Dhangri of Rajouri district and IED blasts in Narwal area of Jammu district recently. He said whether militant attacks, forced migration of Hindus or revival of militancy the Hindu Samaj in the UT in general and that of Jammu region in particular have frustrated the designs of the enemy.
Flanked by VHP J&K UT president, Leela Karan Sharma and working president, Rajesh Gupta the VHP national spokesperson said that the nationalist people of Jammu have not only faced the challenge of Muslim extremists but also defeated their designs.
On decline of militant activities in Kashmir, he said there is no militant friendly Government in J&K now as the previous Governments were supporting them. As the army and security forces are forcefully fighting militancy in Kashmir under the Central rule, the militants have now made the Hindus of Jammu and other nationalist people their target and are trying to spread terror, he added.

He fully acknowledged the Government’s land eviction drive and said those who have grabbed the State land or other Government land should not be spared and the Government should take this land in its possession immediately.

Dr Jain said in 2024 VHP will celebrate its 60th anniversary and during this year all measures will be taken to make orgnisation stronger in entire country including J&JK and Ladakh UTs. The VHP, Bajrang Dal and Durga Vahini will frame committees on block level all over country during the year and in every village Defence Committees will be framed under which the local people will be given training in self defence and use of weapons. He demanded that those people whose guns have become outdate be provided sophisticated weapons for their self defence.

Dr Jain made it clear that the people have themselves to be ready for their self defence only then the militants’ activities can be contained. He said in this regard VHP and Bajrang Dal are fully with the nationalist people of J&K.
