Muslims should hand over Gyanvapi mosque to Hindus: Union minister Giriraj Singh (The Times Of India)

NEW DELHI: Even as BJP refrained from an official statement on the ASI report on Gyanvapi mosque, senior party leader from Bihar and Union minister Giriraj Singh on Friday said Muslims should hand over the mosque to Hindus, and said no statement should be made that could disrupt communal harmony.
“The pran pratishtha (consecration) at the Ram temple (in Ayodhya) has been done by PM Modi and the Sanatanis have welcomed it… But our demand has always been Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura,” Singh said.

“I will appeal to my Muslim brothers, when all evidence is out, hand over Kashi to Hindus so that communal harmony is maintained. We have not broken any mosques after Independence, but there is no temple left in Pakistan,” he claimed.

He further said, “I am saying this for harmony, don’t make provocative statements. This is a changed India, the Sanatani youth has awakened.” The minister said if someone tried to be Babar or Aurangzeb, youths would have to become Maharana Pratap.
A senior VHP functionary avoided giving a formal statement but said the ASI report vindicated the claims of the Hindu community and ideally the site should be handed over to them.
