Rourkela: A 48-year-old man was killed and his murderer was allegedly lynched by villagers at Bandhanatoli in Sundargarh district on Friday night.
The incident happened during the birthday party of the son of Birsa Munda. Dina Guala of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, who had come to his cousin Dulu Ratia’s house, went to the party. After the fest, the invitees and family members were enjoying a dance by locals, when Dina suddenly attacked one Krishtu Guala with a knife and stabbed him repeatedly on the chest, killing him.
Dina then started to flee from the spot when locals chased him and thrashed him, killing him.
Two separate FIRs have been registered on the basis of complaints filed by deceased Krishtu’s wife Sasmita and Dulu.
