Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya Maharaj

Ayodhya: Noted seer Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya Maharaj has demanded that the central government declare India a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ by October 2 or else he would take Jal Samadhi in river Sarayu. The seer also asked the Centre to terminate the nationality of Muslims and Christians.

“I demand that India should be declared a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ by October 2 or else I’ll take Jal Samadhi in river Sarayu,” ANI quoted Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya Maharaj as saying.

The comments come at a time when the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is in full swing and also the political parties, including the ruling BJP, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress have started preparations for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Earlier, Mohan Bhagwat has repeatedly asserted that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) stands for a Hindu nation and all 130 billion Indians were Hindus as they had common ancestors.

While attending an event organised by Pune-based Global Strategic Policy Foundation on September 6, Bhagwat had stressed that Islam came to India with invaders and Muslims have nothing to fear in the country.

“Islam came to India with invaders. This is history and should be told in that manner. Sane Muslim leaders should oppose unnecessary issues and stand firmly against fundamentalists and hardliners. The more we do this at the earliest, the less damage it will cause to our society,” the RSS chief said.

While giving his Vijaya Dashami speech in 2020, the RSS chief had said that Hindutva is ‘applicable’ to 1.3 billion people.

“Hindutva is a word expressing our identity along with the continuity of spirituality-based traditions and an entire wealth of value system in the land of Bharat. Therefore, this word is applicable to all the 1.3 billion people,” Bhagwat had said.

“When the Sangh says Hindustan is a Hindu Rashtra, it does not have any political or power-centered concept in its mind. Hindutva is the essence of this nation’s ‘swa'(self-hood). We are plainly acknowledging the selfhood of the country as Hindu,” the RSS chief said.
