Dalit tied to pole over cattle grazing row ( The Times of India )

HYDERABAD: A Dalit man was tied up to a wooden pole and beaten up by a villager at Shetpalli village in Mancherial’s Kotapalli mandal. Durgam Babu is alleged to have been given this “punishment” by Suram Ram Reddy for letting his two bulls graze on the latter’s premises.

Kotapalli police told TOI on Friday that a case under SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was registered against Ram Reddy. “An FIR was lodged and the case is under investigation,” a police officer said. No arrests have been made in the case as yet.

A video of Babu tied to the pole had gone viral on social media. Babu claimed Ram Reddy came to his house, held him by his collar and brought him to the latter’s house and thrashed him.
