Bihar Dalit girl plucks gram leaves, killed (The Times of India)

PATNA: A farmer and his son, along with two others, have been booked for beating a Dalit teenager to death for plucking gram leaves from their field in Bihar’s Kaimur on Wednesday.

Police said that Sundari Kumari (14) of Hata village was plucking the gram leaves from a farm in Nandana village, some 1 km from her place. “The farm owner, Ramadhar Yadav, and his son Gaurav caught the girl and assaulted her with bamboo sticks. She died after reaching home,” SHO of Chainpur PS, Shambhu Kumar, told TOI over the phone on Thursday.
