A thorough investigation into the death of 23-year-old Faizan during the 2020 Delhi riots must not be delayed, the mother of the deceased appealed to the Delhi High Court.

The High Court was hearing the plea of Kismatun, the mother of the deceased, who was seen in a purported video lying injured on the ground as security personnel forced him to sing Vande Mataram and the national anthem during the Northeast Delhi riots. The petitioner has sought a court-monitored SIT probe into her son’s death.
