The Pondicherry University (PU) administration recently punished eleven students for participating in the ‘Fee Must Fall’ movement in early 2020. A petition regarding the hike is still pending with the Madras High Court while the administration took this extreme step. Parichay Yadav, the President of the PU Students’ Council says that the Union government is attempting to scare the student community by targeting individual students to implement their anti-student moves.
