Incidents of violence against Christians in India remain high, with 745 incidents reported on the United Christian Forum (UCF) helpline by the end of November 2024. The United Christian Forum (UCF) is a Delhi-based civil society organization focused on Christian issues.

This data doesn’t include human and church attacks in the Manipur region.  The UCF press release states, ”Last year too, the tragic violence and bloodshed, as well as over 200 churches which were demolished in Manipur were not added to the UCF figures”.

The press release, issued by the United Christian Forum ( UCF) on Friday, criticized the government’s discriminatory approach to addressing the issues of Christians. It pointed out that when one minority community in Bangladesh was attacked, the Indian government promptly sent a special emissary of Secretary-level rank to engage in dialogue with the Bangladesh government.

They demanded the Modi government consider setting up a national-level enquiry led by a Government of India Secretary level to look into these incidents of Christian minority prosecution in India.

According to the United Christian Forum’s October report, Christians are facing varying degrees of violence and discrimination in 23 of India’s 28 with Uttar Pradesh leading with the highest number of incidents (182) followed by Chhattisgarh (139).

“In addition, the constitutional rights of Christians are being denied systematically. Especially the minuscule Christian population of India’s right to have their right to representation in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies in India by denying the right to reservation of Anglo- Indians.“

According to a report published by PUCL, the local police collude with violent perpetrators and turn a blind eye to offences committed against Christians.
