Prayagraj: Volunteers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Kashi Prant) have distributed pujit akshat (sacred unbroken rice used in puja), patrak (invitation) and photo of Ram temple among 45 lakh Hindu families in 20 districts of the prant under its mass connect drive between Jan 1 and 15.

The VHP was supported by volunteers of RSS, Ramlila and Durga puja committees, Patanjali and Gayatri Pariwars along with saints of Sikh, Baudh and Jain sects.

President of VHP (Kashi Prant) KP Singh exclusively told TOI: “Setting a record, volunteers of VHP, RSS and other Hindu frontal organisations have covered 45 lakh families in Kashi and 40 lakh families in Gorakhpur region under grah sampark abhiyan.” He added volunteers have also appealed Hindu families to light 5 diyas (Shri Ram Jyoti) on Jan 22 evening.

“We had drafted outreach plans to connect over 15 lakh houses of Kashi Prant under the mega connect drive covering each alley, mohalla, village, block and city and connected every household with the consecration ceremony by asking Hindu community to celebrate the occasion from their homes and visit Ayodhya once the temple opens for public after Jan 22,” he further added.

The VHP has also made elaborate plans for the live telecast of the consecration ceremony at prominent temples and mutts of prant.

To reach out to all, the VHP had formed tolis of at least five volunteers at village level who covered 100 houses per day. Plans are afoot to take out prabhat pheris at villages, blocs and cities.
