NEW DELHI — An uneasy calm prevails in Motihari city of Bihar state on Tuesday after several persons were injured in clashes between two groups during the Mahaviri yatra on the occasion of Nag Panchami on Monday.
The violence was triggered when a group of people organised a Mahaviri march in the village. They reportedly were demonstrating lathis with loud devotional songs when people from another group pelted stones at them.
Soon, the situation turned ugly and the clashes left many injured including three Policemen. However, Police acted swiftly and used a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd.
