Hyderabad: A sub-inspector who has been battling for his life after a suicide attempt a week ago died in a hospital in the city on Sunday.
The sub-inspector identified as Sriramula Srinivas, took this extreme measure of consuming pesticide after facing harassment from his seniors, regarding his caste. This incident took place in Mahabubabad on June 30. He was admitted to a hospital in Warangal for treatment but he had to be shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad, where he died.
He was a native of Narakkapet village and was posted to Ashwaraopet from Manugur last year and is survived by his wife, a 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son.
