Pro-Hindu groups such as Bajrang Dal and VHP on Monday staged protests in several districts alleging that the Telangana government failed to stop anti-Hindu forces in connection with suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh’s arrest last week.

In Medak district, leaders of VHP and Bajrang Dal condemned ‘anti-Hindu policies of the state government’ while holding a ‘Rasta Roko’ in Ramayampeta and in Kamareddy, a call for agitation at Kamareddy Nizam Sagar square was issued and a bandh was observed in Banswada town. A bike rally was taken out to protest the BJP MLA’s arrest while some other Hindus protested by voluntarily shutting down petrol stations, shops, schools.

Leaders of the Hindu Temples Preservation Samiti protested against the removal of pagan shops at Shambhu temple in the city.

The two Hindutva groups also demanded immediate action against MP Asaduddin Owaisi who they claim removed about 100 criminals from the police stations in the Old City. They also demanded that cases be registered against youths involved in riots.
