Sunehri Bagh masjid issue receives over 60, 000 responses, and counting (Indian Express)

The HCC is yet to set a date for a meeting on the subject, according to the NDMC.

It has been a week since the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) issued a public notice inviting objections and suggestions till January 1 on its proposal to remove the heritage structure. As of Thursday, over 50,000-60,000 responses have been received by the NDMC, sources said.

“The last counting took place on Thursday, 50,000-60,000 mails have been received. Counting is underway for more emails received in the last few days. Many heritage conservationists and Muslim minority organisations have sent mails opposing the demolition. NDMC will be reviewing the emails, to check for any possible duplication for or against the demolition,” NDMC sources said.

One organisation that has sent plenty of emails is a handle on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) that goes by Indian Muslim History, sources said.
