A Srinagar court has ordered the arrest of Jitender Tyagi in a case involving making derogatory remarks against Islam and Prophet Mohammad.
The order was passed after the accused failed to appear before the court despite several notices issued to him in this regard. The Senior Superintendent of the Police (SSP) was directed to secure his arrest.
The court of the Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar passed the directions for constituting a team to arrest the accused. The court further directed that his presence be secured before the court by the next date of hearing on the 25th of April.
The directions were passed with respect to a complaint lodged against the accused for the remarks made by him against Islam and Prophet Mohammad while speaking to the News Reporters at Lucknow back in 2021.
It was with respect to the above remarks that a criminal complaint was filed at the Court of Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar for promoting enmity between religious groups, hurting religious sentiments under section 153, section 295A, and section 505 of the Indian Penal Code.
