Jammu: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday expressed hope that the Kashmiri Pandits who were displaced from their homes in the 1990s will soon return back as Hindus and ‘Bharat Bhakt.’
“We left (Kashmir) because of extremism but when we’ll return now, we will go back as Hindus and ‘BharatBhakt’ with an assurance of our security and livelihood. We will live in a way that nobody will dare to displace us,” said Bhagwat while addressing the Kashmiri Hindu community via video conference on the last day of the Navreh celebrations in Jammu.
Bhagwat also said, “We are (Kashmiri Pandits) bearing the brunt of getting displaced from our home in our own country for the last 3-4 decades. It’s imperative that we shouldn’t accept defeat in this situation and face challenges.”
Talking about ‘The Kashmir Files’, Bhagwat said the movie revealed the true picture of the Kashmiri Pandits and their exodus in the 1990s from the Kashmir valley.
Vivek Agnihotri directorial ‘The Kashmir Files’ revolves around the forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from their native state after Pakistan-backed militants targeted the community in the early 1990s.
“The movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ has come that is portraying the story of Kashmiri Pandits. Some people are in favour while some are against it. The movies have showcased an unfortunate reality of the drastic tragedy of Kashmiri Pandits which shocked all of us,” he said.
He also talked about the abrogation of Article 370. “Earlier I said that the issue of Kashmiri Pandits will be solved through public awareness and hindrances such as Article 370 must be removed. After 2011, in these 11 years, due to our collective efforts, there is no Article 370,” Bhagwat said.
He further said that nobody can force the Kashmiri Pandits to leave, and if anybody tries to do it, then he will have to face the consequences.
