After Ghaziabad BJP MLA Nandkishor Gurjar demanded the closure of all meat shops in the month of ‘Sawan’, right wing outfits across Gurugram, Faridabad and Nuh have sought a similar ban.

Will meet police, admn

Not just Sawan, we even have our Jalabhishek yatra and want the meat shops shut during that time also. We will take up the issue with the police and administration next week.

The outfits claimed that with Kanwariys travelling in three districts, the respective administration should direct the meat shops to close during the month or they would shut these themselves. The outfits said a majority of these shops were illegal and should be shut permanently.

“We will be meeting the DC as the pious month of Sawan is about to start. Nobody should be allowed to slaughter or sell meat in open. A large number of Kanwariyas travel through three districts during this months, and the sale of meat in open would hurt the sentiments. We have been highlighting the menace of illegal meat shops over the years, and will get them closed this year for sure,” said Kulbhushan Bhardwaj of Bajrang Dal.

“Not just Sawan, we even have our Jalabhishek yatra and want the full closure of shops during that time. It has been happening everywhere in UP, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan, so Haryana should also do it. We will be meeting the administration and the police next week,” said Shrikant Pandit of Bajrang Dal in Nuh.
