A Muslim youth named Mohammad Ashfaq Khan allegedly lost his life while in police custody at the Barhi police station in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.

According to the family members of Ashfaq, he was taken into custody by the police on charges of theft. The family allege that Ashfaq was subjected to severe physical abuse during his overnight detention at the police station. The relentless beating he endured led to his untimely death.

Ashfaq Khan was the sole breadwinner of his family, and his sudden demise has left them devastated. His mother, who is in critical condition due to grief, along with other relatives, is now seeking justice for the loss of their loved one.

Ashfaq’s mother expressed her distress, stating, “I am devastated; my son has lost his life due to a brutal beating, and I feel utterly lost and helpless about what steps to take next.”

Local police have said that they will conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.
