Muslim Man Beaten For Urinating in Front of Cow in Madhya Pradesh

The accused has been booked under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (obscene act) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC

NEW DELHI — In a shocking incident likes of which never reported before, a Muslim man was thrashed by a man allegedly belonging to a Hindutva group for urinating in front of cow in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district.

According to PTI, the Manak Chowk police on Friday night arrested the accused Virendra Rathod after he was caught on video beating up and abusing a person for allegedly urinating in front of a cow.

The video showing the accused thrashing a Muslim man identified as Saifuddin Patliwala went viral on social media. The attacker encouraged by the silent onlookers present there went on beating the bearded man even as the victim pleaded that he never meant to disrespect the cow.

One Twitter user uploaded the video on his post.

 

The accused has been booked under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (obscene act) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, according to an official.

The Police first tracked the victim with the help of the video and on his complaint the accused was arrested, according to Manik Chowk police station in-charge Sachin Dabar said, reports PTI.

The video shows Rathod abusing the victim, before he threw his skull cap on the ground and forced him to kick and step over it, in order to disrespect it.
