NEW DELHI — A Muslim man named Naushad Ali, his wife and their two-year-old baby were brutally beaten up by some goons when they went to consult a doctor in capital’s Ranjit Nagar locality on Monday night.

The video of thrashing Ali by a group of people has gone viral on social media. The video shows that a man is assaulting Ali with a brick while he is lying on the ground. Another person hit him on the chest with his leg.

In another video that has surfaced on social media, Ali’s wife Gulnaz is heard saying that one of the goons who beat up his husband was a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician. His name is Tej Ram Pal, who is known as Kale Bhai. He is also the nephew of local councillor belonging to BJP.

Narrating the incident, she said: “I had come to consult for my 2-year-old chil a doctor in Ranjit Nagar. My child was suffering from fever. While we were inside the doctor’s chamber, we heard commotion. When we came out, we saw that a big vehicle was passing by damaging other vehicles. Our scooty was also among them. My husband protested. Instead of apologising, they started beating us”.

She said her husband was thrashed mercilessly. They also beat her up and her baby.

She also alleged that the BJP politician is known for violence. “On previous occasions, he beat up some people who had fight with him. What did my husband do to him? What did I do to him? They beat me and even my child”.
