Rizwan, a Muslim man, shared his despair and revealed that he had almost left his dream of securing a residence in the city. He criticised the lack of lease agreements that accommodate people from different religions, which posed obstacles in his search for a suitable living space.
In the widely shared post, Rizwan expressed his disappointment, stating that he has truly left the hope of finding a place to call home in Pune. Despite thoroughly exploring the city, he discovered that most gated communities do not allow lease agreements between individuals of different religions. Furthermore, he was informed that even if he managed to secure one, he would likely be evicted within a few months.
In the midst of his tirade, he expressed, “I have deliberately chosen to remain in this country. The startup culture is still in its infancy here. However, every now and then, these unfortunate incidents occur, and I understand why some people have chosen to leave India due to their frustration with it.”
The post received significant attention, leading to responses from different individuals. Although many showed understanding, a few advised against making generalisations about the entire country based on one experience.
