The Gurgaon police arrested a 23-year-old man Sunday for allegedly carrying bulls from Punjab to Rajasthan after his truck was intercepted and raided by cow vigilantes.
According to the police, Shahzad, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was transporting 14 bulls to Rajasthan’s Mewat region allegedly to slaughter them when the Bajrang Dal intercepted him and handed him to them at 6.30 am on Sunday.
In the complaint, filed at Bilaspur police station, Gurgaon Bajrang Dal leader and a member of the Gau Raksha Dal Abhishek Gaur said they acted following information that a man was heading to Rajasthan from Punjab with bulls.
“I received information that a vehicle is filled with bulls, heading from Punjab to Mewat in Rajasthan via KMP Highway. Upon receiving this information, vehicles were checked from around a kilometre away from the KMP Panchgaon toll plaza,” Gaur stated in the complaint.
