COPS THRASH DALIT YOUTH
A fight broke out between a couple in Lucknow under Bijnor station limits which prompted the police to reach the spot. Hearing the noise, Subhash had stepped out of his house to see what happened and police officers thought that the boy was staring at them and beat him up.
According to the victim, the police asked him, “Why are you staring?”
PROBE ORDERED
Hearing this, the victim got scared and started apologising to the police but a few police personnel started thrashing him. Subash’s mother had to intervene to stop the ruckus and she took the victim inside the house. However, a few hours later, police officers came in a jeep and allegedly picked up Subash and took him to the police station. The youth was allegedly beaten brutally at the police station and was later taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Raghvendra Mishra, said, “Krishnnagar ASP has been asked to investigate the entire matter. Action will be taken against police officers found guilty and a team has been sent to record the statements of the victim.”
