In an unprecedented move targeting students, Jamia Millia Islamia authorities issued public notices and pasted them on campus gates, displaying the personal contact details and academic records of students who participated in protests.
A notice, titled “List of active students who organised a protest without any permission on 10/02/2025 at 5:00 PM at the central canteen hall,” was posted on the gates of the university in the national capital.
The notice included the details of at least 17 students, including six women.
It displayed their photographs, names, student ID numbers, mobile numbers, email addresses, home addresses, academic departments, and affiliated organizations.
“This is an unprecedented and unimaginable crackdown meant to terrorize students,” said a student whose name was listed in the notice.
“How can my details, including my email ID and phone number, be published in the public domain?” another student asked.
