The saffron party is said to enjoy the support of 6mn out of the 32mn-strong Indian diaspora. Hundreds of volunteers are arriving in India to give the final push to BJP’s election campaign

As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sets an ambitious target of securing 400-plus seats in the upcoming general election, the party’s 25 overseas units have pledged to volunteer and contribute towards realising this goal.
Called Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP), these units are organising various cultural events and maintaining an active presence on social media. They have also formed WhatsApp groups for families and friends in India, to support the party and engage in phone conversations as part of their campaign strategy. OFBJP comes under the BJP’s foreign affairs department.
