
A government official from Telangana, Abdul Wakeel was attacked in Nirmal district on Monday evening by cow vigilantes.
Wakeel, who works at a Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) in Tanoor as a junior, was carrying a file wrapped in saffron cloth on his motorbike. He was fasting when he was intercepted and attacked by cow vigilantes in Bhainsa town in Nirmal.
The video of the attack emerged on social media. Visuals show several members misbehaving with Wakeel and attacking him objecting to the colour of the cloth he had wrapped his files in.

Police officials confirmed that in connection with the attack four accused were arrested. Three more are on the run.
The arrested individuals were members of right wing groups, Hindu Vahini. They have been identified as Raju, Prakash, Sai and Polishetty and have been booked under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for attempt of murder, criminal conspiracy among others.
