Union Minister and BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar, while responding to a report by The Economic Advisory Council to the PM stating that the share of the Hindu population decreased by 7.82% between 1950 and 2015 in India, while that of Muslims increased by 43.15%, remarked that the Muslim community “outgrowing other communities” and “altering the demography” is a “serious issue.”
The saffron party leader joined the Hindu right-wing campaign that Muslims in India are “illegal immigrants or infiltrators” and are involved in conversion activities in India.
“This trend of only Muslim community outgrowing other communities and altering demography is a serious issue and leads to many important questions that need to be asked and answered?” he posted on X.
“What role is illegal immigration and/or conversion playing in this?” asked Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
