With the cancellation of their Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) registration, these NGOs will no longer be able to receive foreign contributions nor utilise the existing available funds.The Central government cancelled the Foreign Contribution Registration Act (FCRA) licences of six non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for allegedly violating the FCRA guidelines. According to ET, the Home Ministry took action against the NGOs after examining the documents.
The media report stated that the six NGOs that faced Centre’s heat were – the Delhi Diocese Overseas Grant Fund, Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), Samuel Foundation Charitable India Trust, Diocesan Society Church of North, Jesus and Mary Delhi Educational Society and Hemophilia Federation of India (HFI).
Home Ministry cancels FCRA registration of five NGOs
Earlier in the first week of April, the Union Home Ministry cancelled the registration of at least five NGOs for alleged violation of various provisions of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, sources said on Tuesday.
The NGOs whose registrations have been cancelled are CNI Synodical Board of Social Service, Voluntary Health Association of India, Indo-Global Social Service Society, Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action, and Evangelical Fellowship of India.
