The Ahmedabad police lodged an FIR on July 3 against Bajrang Dal leaders for criminal trespass and unlawful assembly, following a complaint by Gujarat Congress MLA Shailesh Parmar who alleged a dozen Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal leaders broke into the Congress headquarters, Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The FIR was lodged at Ahmedabad’s Ellisbridge police station.

The Bajrang Dal leader Jwalit Mehta, former BJP councillor Falguni Shah’s son Rutvij Shah, one Chintan Lodha, and another ‘eight to nine unknown persons’ were booked under BNS sections 189 (2), 324 (2), 329 (3), 351 (2).

According to the complaint, the trespassing took place on July 2 at around 4 am when the leaders from the organisations climbed the premises gate and threatened the security guard and his family.

Parmar’s complaint said that the accused trespassed protesting against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s speech at the Parliament on July 1.
