Lucknow: A 17-year-old Dalit girl student of Class 12 was attacked and abused by a stalker, also a minor, in Cantonment. The accused boy, a resident of Neelmatha in Cantonment, had been stalking the girl, who was his schoolmate, for a long time.

The two were together in class but the boy flunked. He then began stalking her. According to the complaint, he had been blackmailing the girl and mounting pressure on her to marry him.

Police said he had even threatened to kill the girl and her family if she refused his proposal. Despite the intimidation, the girl continued to ignore his advances. However, on May 4, the girl was accosted by the boy on her way back from school. He then made lewd remarks and grabbed her hair when she confronted him. Police said he then pushed her to the ground, and thrashed and abused her while hurling casteist slurs. “After he left, I somehow managed to return home,” the victim said. “I told my parents everything, but we were scared to file a police report right away. ”

In Huballi, Girish Savant, a 21-year-old autorickshaw driver, fatally stabbed a woman who rejected his advances. The victim, 21, was attacked at her home. The incident echoes Neha Hiremath’s murder. Gangamma, Mysuru, and Dharwad SP Gopal Byakod are key figures in the case.
