Far-Right Monk Kalicharan Maharaj Calls for Muslim Vendor Ban at Kumbh, Pushes ‘Spit Jihad’ Conspiracy at News 18 Event

Location: Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

At the Rising Madhya Pradesh event organized by News 18, far-right monk Kalicharan Maharaj delivered a speech rife with divisive and inflammatory rhetoric. He called for the exclusion of Muslim vendors from the Kumbh Mela and promoted unfounded conspiracies such as ‘spit jihad’ and ‘urine jihad.’

Kalicharan also declared that Muslims do not belong in India, asserting it is a nation solely for Hindus. He further demonized Muslims, claiming their population growth incites violence against Hindus. He advocated for a population control law, alleging that Muslims “keep having ten children,” and accused them of plotting to destroy the Ram Mandir. Kalicharan also invoked the conspiracy of ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind,’ intensifying communal hostility.
