The Chikkaballapur police have registered a case against unidentified individuals for attempting to create communal disharmony through a fake video circulating on social media. The video, which falsely claims that a Muslim group attacked land belonging to another community in Chikkaballapur, was widely shared and had the potential to disturb public order.

Kushal Chouksey, the Superintendent of Police, took immediate action, urging the public to avoid sharing such misleading content that could fuel unrest. In a statement, he clarified that the video,
which referenced a Waqf issue, originated from Bangladesh and was being falsely circulated as an incident in Chikkaballapur. A police investigation confirmed that no such event had taken place in the
area.

Chouksey appealed to citizens not to share such provocative content and to report anyone involved in spreading it. He assured that strict action would be taken against individuals attempting to disrupt communal harmony. The police are currently working to track down those responsible for circulating the fake video.

This incident highlights the increasing concern over the spread of misinformation on social media and its potential impact on communal relations. Authorities are emphasizing the importance of responsible online behavior and the role of the public in preventing the spread of false information.
