A Dalit man who had been working for his employer for over 4 months went to collect his wages after which his family was told the news of his death. The incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Ekdil district where a Dalit man was allegedly beaten to death for demanding his wages.
In the video, the wife of the deceased can be seen in a state of turmoil as she unravels the heart wrenching story of her husband, who went to collect his wages from his employer but didn’t return. The woman can be heard identifying herself as Sridevi and has also stated that her husband had been working for the employer for a period of over 6 months.
The woman was in a state of turmoil and deep grief as she can be heard wailing while unfolding what had happened to her husband as she alleged that her husband was murdered by his employers. The police are yet to take cognizance of the matter as there have been no reports of a probe being ordered or a case being filed against the employers.
Another incident of caste-based atrocities was reported recently where a man belonging to the Dalit community was touching an idol of the goddess Durga back in October. According to reports, the police had quashed the angle of caste playing a role in the case as they cited that caste only came into light when social media spread rumors of the act being a caste-based crime.
