In a chilling development, a man claiming to be a follower of Karni Sena chief Suraj Pal Amu has threatened to kill unborn babies by pulling them out of their mothers’ wombs. Faced with outrage from netizens, the Ghaziabad Police said that they had arrested the man, identified as Thakur Shekhar Chauhan. The video surfaced just days after Amu had demanded the right to kill Muslims and posted the video of his hate speech on his Facebook page.

In the latest viral video, Chauhan is heard claiming to be the state chief of Karni Sena in Uttar Pradesh adding that he is a loyal follower of Suraj Pal Amu. He goes on to say, “I’ve come here on the instruction of our national chief, respected Suraj Pal Amu. We’ve followed the rules.” Chauhan then goes on to issue chilling threats saying that he wouldn’t hesitate to pull out unborn babies from their mothers’ wombs before killing them.

“If our national president (Amu) issues an order, then the firing (of pistol) is a small thing..We will pull out the babies from their mothers’ wombs and kill them,” he adds to the chanting of Jai Shri Ram from his supporters.

As expected, the video caused considerable outrage with netizens demanding his arrest saying that the video was capable of causing communal strife. The Ghaziabad Police later tweeted a statement with a photo of Chauhan in their custody. The Police said that they had taken note of the viral video and arrested Chauhan, adding that a case had been registered in the matter.

Chauhan’s chilling threats come just after Amu asked a gathering in Haryana on 30 May that why he was not allowed to kill Muslims. Amu had said, “We can’t even kill them (Muslims).” His comments demanding the right to kill Muslims were made during a mahapanchayat in a Haryana village. The mahapanchayat was held in support of the killers of one Asif Hussain Khan, a resident of Khera Khalilpur village in Nuh district of Haryana, who was murdered on 16 May.

Later, it was reported that the Haryana Police were checking the authenticity of the video even though Amu himself had shared the video on his Facebook page. The video continues to be available on his Facebook page.
