Hindu Sena has received a major setback in the ongoing dispute over the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer which is alleged to be a shiva temple. The central government has recommended that the case should be dismissed.
The recommendation was presented during the hearing in Ajmer district court by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs. In its affidavit, the ministry stated that the case filed by Hindu Sena stating that an ancient Shiva temple exists at the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin is not legit and there is no reasonable basis for the court to proceed in considering the case.
The ministry also took note that the case was filed by the Hindu Sena to attract public attention and has no legal basis or justification.
The ministry also showed objection to the fact that the original text of the case and its translation vary a lot and during the hearing on November 27 last year the opposing parties were not given any opportunities to present their view point.
After the central government’s recommendation, the court adjourned today’s hearing and the next date of hearing is set to be on May 31. Speaking on the issue, Hindu Sena President, Vishwa Gupta said that if any flaw has been found in the case, it will be removed. Meanwhile the Muslim side has welcomed the position. The lawyer representing muslim’s side, Ashish Kumar Singh said that we have been fighting the case questioning the reality of the allegation from the beginning.
