Caste discrimination: Father-son duo held for refusing hair cut to Dalit boy in Tamil Nadu (News 9 Live)

According to the police complaint by Dalit boy, the Saloon owners asked him which village he was from, and when he told him that he came from Kelaparai, they categorically said they they have never cut hair for Dalits and asked him to go somewhere else to cut his hair.

Dharmapuri: Tamil Nadu’s Dhamapuri district police arrested a father and son duo under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, for refusing a haircut in their saloon to a 17-year-old Dalit boy citing his caste. The accused father-son duo belongs to the Navithar community (MBC)
