Telangana BJP MLA T Raja, known for delivering inflammatory speeches, has waded into the debate around the disputed Bhojshala temple-cum-Kamal Maula mosque complex in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district.
Speaking at a Chandra Shekhar Azad Jayanti event in Dhar, Raja said a “magnificent temple is going to be built in your Madhya Pradesh” and “we will win the Bhojshala case in the High Court very soon”.
Last week, the Archeological Survey of India submitted its survey report on the disputed structure to the court, stating that the scientific investigation reveals that the “existing structure was made from the parts of earlier temples”.
In a provocative speech, Raja accused the Muslim community of “love jihad”, claimed “open conversions are happening” in Madhya Pradesh, and said cow slaughter was rampant.
He told the audience it is “our duty to stand up for the honour and respect of our sisters and daughters”, and claimed an attempt was being made to make India into an “Islamic state” by “reducing the number of Hindus”.
