Twelve Muslim laborers from West Bengal were stripped, beaten, and forced to chant slogans praising Assam (“Joi Aai Axom”) and local indigenous organizations (“AASU Zindabad,” “Lachit Sena Zindabad”). The victims filed an FIR against Nazira BJP leader Mayur Borgohain, alleging that he owes them around 15 lakh rupees for their work, which they believe could have motivated the attack.
