Ahmedabad: The Bajrang Dal on Wednesday circulated videos, showing its members preventing non-Hindus and those who refused to get tilaks on their foreheads from entering a garba venue on SG Road. The outfit members said garba is a form of worship for Hindus, and they were doing this to prevent ‘love jihad’.
Stationed at the entrance, the members carried out random identification checks and were seen putting tilaks on the foreheads of those entering. Bajrang Dal north Gujarat convener Jvalit Mehta said their members will visit garba venues on all nine days of the festival.TNN

Ujjain Garba bans non-Hindus, makes tilak & Aadhaar a mustA Garba organizer in Ujjain, India, has put up posters banning non-Hindus from entering the Navratri celebrations, claiming it is to prevent love jihad. The organizers are checking Aadhar cards before allowing people to enter. Law enforcement authorities do not seem to have any objections. The organizer, Sankalp Sanskriti Sanstha, has also enforced a rule that every male Garba attendee will be welcomed with a tilak, which they believe will deter non-Hindus. The organizer claims that Garba events were previously used to mislead Hindu girls into marrying men of other religions.
