GolaghaGolaghat:  In yet another incident of lynching, a man was killed by a couple of youths at Mamoroni Gaon village in Dergaon Tehsil of Golaghat in Assam.

Reportedly, the man named Ahom Das was tied up and beaten to death by these youths for allegedly stealing a got.

According to family members of the deceased, Das, a daily wage worker, had gone to the market with a cash Rs 5,000 in cash which and later he was reported missing when his body was recovered.

However, while investigating the case, two people named Arnav Bora and Rajiv Bakti have been nabbed by the police. Search is on for the other accused.

Notably, earlier in this month, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pijush Hazarika had said that the Assam government is mulling to introduce a bill over mob lynching.

“So far, we have not enacted any law against mob lynching but we must take steps to prevent it. Many such gruesome incidents have shaken us,” he added.
