According to a dainik Jagran report, after Jahangir Puri, now (Muslim majority area) Shaheen Bagh and Okhla will be bulldozed by Nagar Nigam. For this, South Delhi Municipal Corporation has made all preparations.
The report, citing sources, claimed that Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators have been identified in six areas, including Okhla-Shaheen Bagh, who have been occupying the roads and also carrying out anti-social activities under the guise of rubbish. The action will also help curb crime.
At the same time, the BJP has announced a campaign to expel Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators from the country.
It is pertinent to mention that the Kejriwal government had alleged that the BJP had settled Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Jahangirpuri who had created riots. Obviously AAP has given a political weapon in the hands of the BJP.
Earlier deputy CM Manish Sisodia said, “in the last eight years, the BJP has got Bangladeshis and Rohingyas illegally settled in different parts of the country. Why were they settled in the country? These people have been settled along with BJP’s own people. After getting them settled, riots are conducted as per a script.”
AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha also accused BJP of settling Bangladeshis and Rohingyas in Delhi and all over the country. He said, “BJP has settled these Bangladeshis and Rohingyas in Delhi and use them to cause riots. If one wants to know when the BJP plans to create the next riot, ask them to give a list of places where they have settled Bangladeshis and Rohingyas.”
Meanwhile Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta on Thursday wrote to the Mayors and Commissioners of the south and east Delhi civic bodies, asking them to “run bulldozers” on the illegal encroachments by “Bangladeshis, Rohingyas and anti-social elements” in their jurisdiction areas.
Mr. Gupta blamed AAP and the Congress for “trying to protect rioters” in Jahangirpuri, while addressing a press conference.
South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Mayor Mukesh Suryan said the SDMC will carry out the anti-encroachment drives accordingly.
“If a bulldozer is required, then we will use it. If a senior leader is showing interest in removing illegal encroachments, we should welcome it. There are many illegal encroachments in Okhla, Khanpur and the like, they will be dealt with,” Mr. Suryan told The Hindu.
