A person allegedly beats four Dalit women in village in Ludhiana area (India Times)

LUDHIANA: A person allegedly insulted four Dalit women and beat them up in Manupur village of Samrala on Thursday morning.


As per reports, tense atmosphere in the village and angry villagers staged protest in front of a Gurudwara in the village. The reports suggest that due to the alleged incident, people from all sections of the village, including the Dalit community, and large number of people reached the dharna site and started shouting slogans.

Local sources said that on getting information about this incident, SHO of Samrala police station Rao Birendra Singh reached the spot along with the police force and while calming the people assured to take strict action against the person.
