16-year-old Dalit girl kidnapped from Etah, gang-raped for months in Noida (Times of India)

A 16-year-old Dalit girl from Etah, UP, was kidnapped and sexually assaulted for months in Noida. The two accused men filmed the abuse, hurled casteist slurs, and threatened to release the videos online. After enduring immense trauma, she was abandoned in her village, leading to the registration of an FIR under multiple sections, including Pocso and the SC/ST Act.

AGRA: A 16-year-old Dalit girl from UP’s Etah was kidnapped by two men who confined her in a small rented room near Delhi and allegedly sexually assaulted her for months. They also regularly filmed the assault and, as per the complainant, “constantly reminded her of her caste during the abuse”.

The minor’s ordeal began on Dec 24, 2024, when she was first lured by one of the men and then forcibly taken to Noida. There, the accused — both in their 20s — also regularly hurl(”) (gangrape), 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult), 351 (3) (criminal intimidation), along with Pocso and SC/ST Act on her father’s complaint on Tuesday. Her father is a daily wager.

An audio clip in which a man could be heard purportedly abusing her and saying, “we’ll pour acid on you,” has also emerged online.

Etah SSP, Shyam Narayan Singh, said, “Prima facie, we’ve found that the girl knew one of the accused and she was taken to Noida. She has been sent for medical tests on Tuesday. She is traumatised, but stable. The accused will be arrested soon. Further investigation is on.”
