During the Ram Navami procession outside Mumbai’s International Airport on Sunday, participants chanted hateful slogans and songs targeting Muslims.

According to a video circulated online, a large crowd of people, many holding saffron flags, chanted vulgar and threatening slogans throughout the procession, including “Aurangzeb Ki Kabr Khudegi” (We will dig Aurangzeb’s grave), along with songs that threatened to incite brutal violence against Muslims.

Many other obscene remarks shouted were even unfit to be quoted.

Videos of these slogans, often intended to provoke or incite violence, have gone viral, sparking widespread criticism.

Shedding light on the recent restriction on Muslims regarding prayers and peaceful protests, journalist Rana Ayyub noted that, “Muslims must not protest peacefully, they must not pray, they will be threatened, jailed at every possible excuse. Right wingers meanwhile may chant hate slogans on the streets, climb on top of mosques and there will be no law to stop this. Our well-meaning too shall stay quiet.”

Journalist Sucheta Dalal, referring to the video said, “Maybe Kunal Kamra’s  lawyers can use this in court to demonstrate selective targeting by cops and netas.”
