The District Minority Officer (DMO) has recommended the cancellation of recognition for 90 madrasas in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh after they failed to generate Apaar (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) IDs for students, as directed by the state government.
According to the district’s Minority Welfare Officer, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, the government had instructed madrasas to generate Apaar IDs for students to ensure that the benefits provided by the government reach the students. While this process has been successfully carried out in primary and junior schools, it has not been implemented in the 90 madrasas located near the Nepal border.
“These madrasas have not generated a single Apaar ID, which means the number of students recorded in these madrasas might be fictitious. The operation of these madrasas is likely not being conducted properly,” Mishra said.
Out of more than 300 recognized madrasas in the district, these 90 are the only ones failing to comply with the government’s order. The Minority Welfare Officer has written to the Registrar of the Arabic Persian Madrasa Board, requesting that the recognition of these madrasas be cancelled.
“Despite repeated written and verbal instructions, these 90 madrasas have made no progress in generating Apaar IDs. This is a clear violation of the Arabi Farsi Madrasa Recognition Rules under Section 01. As a result, I have recommended that the recognition of these madrasas be revoked,” said Mishra.
